Backpacking Trip to Feather Falls on the American River

This was a backpacking trip to Feather Falls on the American River in July, 1972. Someplace along the way we rented gold panning pans to try our hand at panning for gold. No luck in spite of some serious effort. It was over 100 degrees and the water is snow melt and very cold.
